Reasons for the
establishment of a strategic Committe made up of Retailers

The
NFPL works for retailers involved in the private label
sector. Therefore it is normal that retailers can
influence the exhibition options.

The
NFPL Committee can become a meeting point beetween
private labels managers and an exchange platform
matters of interest. This will concern those working
for Hypermarkets specialist shops and mail order
companies coming from several countries and from the
various non food sectors. This mix of interests
between the European retailers from different sectors
of activity will give something to each member without
revealing their company strategies.

NFPL
& Cie are working in conjunction with the English
market researdch firm "Euromonitor" to
produce market studies of the non food private label
sectors. At the moment there are very few market
studies in this area, therefore by organising and
creating such market studies, the NFPL committee will
be able to intervene to obtain the best analyses.
Moreover, a market study has already been initiated on
the French, English and German DIY and Gardening
sector (amounting to approximately 60% of the European
market) and this will ba availlable from mid September
2000.

The
NFPL Committee can ask for a International Marketing
Monitoring concerning innovation in Non Food Private
Label.

The
NFPL Committee can use the services offered by
nfpl.net to promote new sources of supply to the
International retailers.

The
creation of a jury to reward the best innovations and
initiatives in the private label sector.
The NFPL Committee can
become a efficient tool at the service of retailers. Also,
it is totally neutral towards these retailers which is a
guarantee of impartiality
